Enterprise Network
The Enterprise Network is the result of the contract from the DCSF to move the School Enterprise Education Network (SEEN) forward into the next phase. The contract calls for support for enterprise education from 5-19 and challenged us to produce a plan that was more flexible, responsive to local need and sustainable beyond the end of the project.
The vision for the network is to create a sustainable network of 50-60 Enterprise Learning Partnerships (ELPs) including all 155 LA areas with some LA’s joining together to make an effective partnership. ELPs are a group of schools and organisations within the LA area who wish proactively to support enterprise education. Each ELP will be given funding to support the enterprise journey 5-19 within their geographical sphere of influence. ELPs will work to support all schools in their area across all phases 5-19 to improve the quality and quantity of enterprise education.
As well as the locally defined activity undertaken by ELPs there will be a wide range centrally organised CPD and resources provided by the network for use by all schools. The network will engage nationally recognised organisations working in enterprise to provide this such as Make your Mark and Enterprise Education Trust.
Enterprise Village is the online component of Enterprise Network providing a one-stop shop for all those with an interest in enterprise education, primarily in England, but, also, beyond. You will find a wealth of resources, information, professional development and support for enterprise education in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. Going forward, the Enterprise Village will be adaptable to the needs of its community of users, allowing them to create a profile of their interests, location and professional which will enable Enterprise Village to deliver a customised selection of news, resources and events directly to each individual user. Regional Enterprise Coordinators and ELPs will be able to develop local and regional pages to support greater community development and engagement.
The quality of the programme is monitored and evaluated by the Centre for Education and Industry through its enterprise education quality framework’. http://www.enterprisevillage.org.uk/home/aboutus
